The main goal of my testimonial is to inspire you. It doesn’t matter how big or small you are … anyone with determination to change their body can do CROSSFIT! I got off track when my mother suffered a heart attack and multiple strokes in the Fall of 2011. I had to put my personal life on hold and sacrifice my own health to make some big adjustments in her life due to her losing her memory, moving her to a new home so she could be mobile in it without any issues, and taking over all her financial obligations. Finally when I looked up in February 2013 … I had packed on 40 pounds and was feeling very tired. Now don’t get me wrong … I was still very energetic when it came to work and community activities because those things I truly cared about. I was just accustomed to being 2nd or 3rd on my priority list. A dear friend that I’m grateful till this day introduced Lina and I to Crossfit. We joined The BodyLab on February 6, 2013 and I immediately got hooked on the nutrition program (paleo) and crossfit. Within 7 weeks, I lost 37 pounds. The environment of encouragement was amazing especially for this 40 plus year old … feeling overwhelmed that I was the oldest in the gym. But I wasn’t, there’s lots of us! I have been training for 23 months and I have lost 45 pounds and my body continues to change. I can do things that I thought I could never do … box jumps, dead lift 210 pounds, kipping swing pull ups, and I have muscles growing on my arms (hee! hee) … ALL in a supportive and safe environment. I still have some major goals I want to accomplish and I’m getting there. What took almost 2 years to pack on … realistically will take 2 years to change. From a size 10 to a size 6 is something I’m very proud of … but my eye is still on the prize … my true weight of a size 4. I workout 4 to 5 days a week and focus on improvement! The pictures show it all. Thank you to my BodyLab family for all your support and always making me feel like a ROCK STAR!

One year ago, I made a decision to go on a two-year fitness and weight loss journey. As someone who’s over 40 and has had a string a failed attempts at achieving either of these goals, I was a little shy about trying out Crossfit. However, after meeting the coaches and BodyLab, I felt more comfortable. Within a short amount of time, I truly felt like I had a “workout family” in my 5:30am classes. The coaches were supportive and never minded helping me determine how to adjust any exercise to fit my abilities. Additionally, I have never met a more supportive group of people than my fellow BodyLab folks. Just when you think you can’t do another rep, people are cheering you on!

In my first year of my two-year journey, I’ve not only lost 37 pounds, but also have begun reshaping my body! It’s fabulous, and I can’t wait to continue the journey.

In January 2014, I entered a weight loss contest.  The winnings were for a large sum of money, so I wanted to maximize my weight loss the best I could.  I was given a free 1 year membership to a local global gym, but I chose not to use it.  Instead, I joined The BodyLab CrossFit.  My husband had gotten fantastic results from The BodyLab so I knew that I had made the right choice.  All of the coaches knew I was doing this weight loss contest, and they made it clear from the beginning that they were going to support me.  They knew I had a goal I was working towards and they made sure to do everything they could to help me get there.  The workouts tested my abilities, and I did things I never thought I could do.  The community at The BodyLab is something that I’ve not witnessed anywhere else.  Not only are the coaches supportive, but the other members are too.  Sure, it was intimidating walking in the first few times, but that feeling quickly faded.  I had people welcoming me from left and right.  I’ve made great friends, and some lifelong friends there.  After 3 months I lost almost 50 pounds by making my nutrition a priority, as well as going to The BodyLab at least 4 days a week.  I even did a women’s competition that The BodyLab put on last summer!  I initially joined just for the contest, which was 3 months long.  It’s been 1 year and I’m still going strong.  It was the best decision I ever made.  I still have a ways to go in my weight loss journey, but I’m in the best shape of my life.  Want to lose that weight that you can’t seem to get rid of?  Want to get fit?  Join The BodyLab CrossFit.  You won’t look back.

After finally finishing school in May of 2012 I realized how unhappy I was with my fitness. I had steadily been gaining weight throughout school and wasn’t very active. My husband, Pete, had been doing CrossFit for over a year and really enjoyed it. When we moved back to the Bryan/College Station area we both wanted to find a CrossFit box that would work for us. We had heard from a friend about the amazing results her sister had from going to The BodyLab. We went up to the box the first week we were here and were very impressed with the entire program, especially the nutrition aspect, since none of the other boxes had talked about that before. Since starting at The BodyLab in 2012 I have lost 30 pounds and am happy with where I am now, for the first time in a long time. Pete and I have been to multiple boxes since discovering CrossFit and none have come close to even matching The BodyLab. The facility is huge, the atmosphere is amazing, and the coaches are extremely knowledgable. Anyone who is looking to make a lifestyle change, come out and give The BodyLab a try, you won’t regret it!
